On the evening of August 3rd, 2010, about 500 people gathered at 3700 Wilshire Blvd. and walked to the LAPD Olympic Station to show unity in their efforts to stop crime, gangs, violence, graffiti and drugs. The people of the Wilshire Center/Koreatown community could be heard for miles chanting anti-violence chants in Bengali, English, Korean, Spanish and Vietnamese.
This event was organized by UDLA, CRA/LA, WCBID, WCKNC & the LAPD Olympic Station.
The Unification of Disabled Latin Americans (UDLA), the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles (CRA/LA), the Wilshire Center Business Improvement District (WCBID) and the Wilshire Center-Koreatown Neighborhood Council (WCKNC) would like to thank the many individuals and organizations that made this National Night Out possible.
Much appreciation goes to the LAPD Olympic Station, KYCC, the Wilshire Enhancement Group, PAVA, KADC, Little Bangladesh, the Lions Club, the Los Angeles City Council, all the businesses, residents and constituents of the Wilshire Center/Koreatown community plus the invaluable police officers, participants, supporters and volunteers for co-creating this celebration.
Special thanks to Yonah Hong for her tireless efforts to bring the community together.
